Default new restore without 3.1.3 question.
ok i want to do a total restore but i still want to jailbreak it again. i have backed up with pkgbackup, appbackup, aptbackup and through itunes. but when i try to restore as new, itunes wants to upgrade the firmware to 3.1.3. anybody know of how to restore my iphone like a new phone but not have it upgrade the firmware? is there another way to restore without goin through itunes?

Your info says you have a 3GS on 3.0.1 so my advice is based on that.

Your phone can use custom firmwares so you can use pwnagetool to make one of those and restore to that.

Here's a guide: iClarified - iPhone - How to Jailbreak Your iPhone 3GS Using PwnageTool [Mac]

When it asks if you're already pwned, click 'yes' as it is just asking if you're jailbroken.

You can also make a custom 3.0.1 firmware but I don't see a reason to.

you can restore still just doo this:

Shift-Click(if on windows) and then locate your firmware. It will restore with that firmware and not 3.1.3

    Not with a 3GS...

You will have to locate a custom pwnage firmware and restore to that.
