so my iphone 3gs is jailbreak i had cydia one time and now its gone ive searched for it with no luck i have Rock though is there anyway to get cydia though rock ive also tryed using blackrain again to see if i could get it back that way and it didnt seem to work
I was having some problems with cydia, I have an iPhone 3gs new boot rom running 3.1.2 firmware and everytime I try and open cydia it would crash so I used Terminal app from cydia to try and uninstall it then Reinstall it, and evertime I try and reinstall it I get this message "E: Internal Error, Could not perform immediate configuration (2) on essential"
Is there ANY way I can get cydia back WITHOUT re jailbreaking??
I tried that and it goes through the whole "Blackra1n" install process but cydia doesnt show up neither does the raindrop app. So I decided to just rejailbreak and now iTunes says "We couldnt restore because you are not connected with the server" so I held "shift" and selected my 3.1.2 ipsw and just restore from that but, it says "The iPhone Brian's iPhone could not be restored. This device isn't eligible for the requested build."
I really hope this doesnt mean I have to be without Cydia.. anyone please help me out!
I dont remember where I got it from but I thought it was a custom ipsw, is there a way I can tell? or Could you give me a site or link to download one
Ok that was a dumb question, I poked around and I can download it from here. Are they custom though? and if im on 3.1.2 NOW do I download 3.1.2 for 3gs or 3.1.3? REmember im on the new boot rom so..?

I tried redsn0w and I dont get an option "already pwned" I get an option for cydia but once the whole jailbreak is done its "restarts" my iphone and since im on the new boot rom I have to use blackra1n again to get it to load up.
And also when I try mobile terminal "apt-get install cydia" I get this
E: Internal Error, Could not perform immediate configuration (2) on essential"
Ok, I think it should be possible then. The problem is, I've never done it so I don't know the process. But what is roughly required is that you download Cydia from Saurik's server and then install it through SSH.
As I said, I'm not sure of the process so you might need to google on cydia download and cydia.deb install.
Here's a link to Saurik's files for Cydia: Index of /cydia/debs/
I believe those are the files to use but I could be wrong. You should search on google on how to install a .deb file onto the iphone through SSH.
Just as a warning, I've never done this so it's all theoretical on my part, though I can't see anything bad happening to the phone. At worst, the cydia install just won't work.
