I gave it a try, but didn't notice a speed increase. Do I have to run the app first, and after any reboots?
03-17-2010, 08:00 PM #43
no but try with different servers im using the opendns its the fastest one .... do a google search for fast dns in you area such as googleDNS it all depends on your location..... go into your /Application folder find the app resolvconf and vhange the server ip in the resolv.conf file and test it after a reboot
PEOPLE BTW YOU DOOOOOOO NEEED TO REBOOT! The DEB is only coping the files into the application folder and the launchdeamon into the launchDeamon folder it doesnt take affect until you reboot!!!!!

When comparing speed shouldn't one be on 3g and not wifi? ('cause wifi is already pretty fast the speed diffrence is very noticeable on 3g in my experience with this tweak so far)

sounds very interesting
Q: would this take up any extra ram from the phone/ipod because its using a daemon?
im assuming it wouldnt but just wanna make sure
03-18-2010, 05:15 AM #49
no it wont.... it only copies a file to /var/run on the device start up...
