I don't even have an iPod. Anyway I'm pretty sure it's just time for a new battery, it's not lasting very long on a full charge anymore.

I am saying that when problems arise like this, you can't just say "No, I cleaned my iphone 3 weeks ago, it's NOT that", see, a little piece of dirt can cause this problem, and I am POSITIVE a piece of dirt could get in your iphone in this time period.
So no, I am not saying it needs to be "torn" apart every 3 weeks, I am saying not to rule out the possibility.

I really can't see how a " piece of dirt ", even if it did get into the phone, could force it's way between the contact points. I'm not saying it's not possible, just that of all the possible causes, it's probably the absolute least likely. Now corrosion, that I could see. But like I said, I just cleaned everything a few weeks ago so there's no way. Especially since I used DeoxIT D5 on all the connections.

"Now my phone is doing this. It will say like 54 or 85 percent, but show that it is dully charged. It only happens once in a while though"
^that was my original post in this thread. Where does is ask for help? I was, and still am, going to fix the problem the same way the OP did.
