I tried to get tethering to work like 8 different ways and consistently failed but thats another problem for another day. What now happens though is that whenever i unlock my phone and try to do anything i get an error saying no internet connection. once i turn off and on my 3g (usually using sbsettings) it will work but its a pain to do this every time i unlock my phone.

i already restored and updated and that didnt help. ive updated my carrier settings to 5.5, ive reset network settings etc i just dont know how to get back to the old profile i had when it worked. it seems like no matter what i do the tethering option is still there and i feel like as long as if that is still there my phone wont work like it should.

if anyone has any ideas please let me know
