Default preventing email attachements from automatically downloading
Hi I'm new here and did a quick search but didn't come up with any related questions. Hopefully this is in the right section of the forum. Mods, please move if there is a more appropriate place.

I don't think this is possible currently but I'm hoping that someone who might be able to develop a jailbreak app to change the default behavior for downloading email attachments. I believe there's some size threshold where attachments larger than that size are not downloaded unless you click on them in the body of the email, while smaller attachments are downloaded.

It would be great to have some preferences to be able to change this threshold? I'm hoping to not download any attachments automaticlly to save on my data plan. I get alot of work attachments which aren't of any use to me to look at on my phone as they have a lot of formatting that is lost and i'll be close to my computer some time soon. Mostly I just want to be able to read the text of the email, yet I might have to download lots of attachments (tens of MB per day) just to read a few lines of text.

turning off automatic attachment downloads entirely would be fine with me as well. I would just like some control of data usage when downloading emails.

I looked at the MobileMail.app info.plist but there wasn't anything there that I could decipher as being relevant to my question.

thanks, hope someone has an idea about how this could be done.
