Well I bit the bullet after viewing a few vids on YouTube and thanks to melech for the excellent guide. My screen is now dust free. I am so glad I didn't change my phone as I still have all my shsh's saved (from 3.0) untethered jailbreak and all my apps. Yipeeeeeeeeee! Can't believe how easy it was appart from that little hinge/clamp on one of the cables.
Thanks to all for your advice and help it is much appreciated and I hope I can return the favour in the future.

Thanks stealth. Me too. It was easier than I thought, but I was suprised how well the iPhone was constructed. But now I feel comfotable to change the screen or anything else if I have a problem.
It really was an excellent guide made by Melech and the suction cup method worked a treat. God knows what I would have done if I hadn't posted on here.
This site rocks.
Well I pobably know what I would have done. I would now be sat with a clean iPhone stuck on 3.1.3 with no shsh's on file and with a tethered jailbreak. Lol. So glad I asked the question.

Looks like I will attempt this. Will have to wait till this weekend cause I need to get a screw driver small enough. I know I used to have one somewhere but the gf moves my stuff to places I never can find them.
Happy it went great and easy for you.

^No, you won't. Unless the Do Not Remove sticker on the mainboard is damaged, the warranty will not be void. Trust me
