that didnt help, as i do not have a mac... but looking along. I am able to open all the programs, get into the phone, transfer etc...
but thank you very much for taking the time to help, I appreciate it...!
i transferred into
/private/var/root/media
it shows up there, but not on the phone?
was the media file not the place to put a game into?
i think i found it.. i went from the
root folder to
/<root>
then I found the applications folder...
Does that sound right?
I am transferring into there now.

depends on the extension of the file,, if its a .deb
* SSH into iPhone – using iPhoneTunnel if your on Windows , Cyberduck if your on MacOS. Read here how to use iPhoneTunnel
* Copy .deb file into tmp folder
* Quit Cydia if its running
* Hit Ctrl+T in WinSCP and run the following command : dpkg -i /tmp/name.deb ( just to make sure : you replace name.deb with the actual name of the deb file )
* After installation, you can delete the .deb file
* Reboot and your away
if its an app then thats a different story

transfer what? Music / Video? Can't do that this way.
Audio and video has to be added to the database file on the phone, so it has to be synced with itunes or 3rd party app like sharepod, monkeymedia, etc...

Be more specific. If it's a cracked app then we won't help you here. What app is it? What form is the app in?

Jailbreaking should not be used for stealing.
Pay for your apps if you want them.He who asks a question looks foolish for 5 minutes. He who doesn't ask a question remains foolish forever.

I jailbreak to get phone functionality that Apple refuses to give me. Multitasking. Downloading files from the web and email. Tethering. Theming. Quick access to settings. Retro emulators. Bluetooth support for more than just headsets. Access to the phone's filesystem.
Nowhere in there can stealing anything be implied.

sure you are... thats why these phones arent available on t mobile..
And if apple wanted us to be able to all this stuff for free.. they would have the phone set up for that..
anyhow.. I dont really care..
you guys are wrong..
And.. its not a cracked app...
I just wanted to know how to use the SSH correctly.. and the reasons for it...
The ones that need o grow up are the ones standing high on the Soapboxes!
