Default Something is making my iPhone connect to 3G

My phone bill just ballooned because of my internet usage. The problem is, I don't even use it that much. What I did was I changed my APN to prevent my phone from accessing 3g and I noticed that I get the “Could Not Activate Cellular Data Netowrk” message from time to time. I usually notice this whenever I'm writing a message. Do any of you know how I could determine what's causing my phone to connect to 3g and why?

These are the apps that I recently installed when this problem first manifested itself.
    Yahoo Messenger
    blackra1n
    five columns
    five icon
    make it mine
    sbsettings
    iElegance winterbaord theme

the packages intalled on cydia are:
    appsync for OS3.1
    bigboss's source
    cycorder
    cydia community solutions
    cydia istaller
    erica utilities
    five icon dock
    five column springboard
    iblank
    imobilecinema.com
    iphone firmware
    ispazio
lock calendar (could this be the culprit? anybody using this?)
    makeitmine
    mobileterminal
    modmyi
    openssh
    saurik's source
    sbsettings
    sbsettingstoggles
    source gui
    ste's source
    toggle SSH
    zodttd's source
    winterboard

does any of the above-mentioned packages look fishy to you guys?

    Thanks in advance.

P.S. Is it possible that my phone has a virus?

If you have SBsettings - you can just toggle the 3G on and off as you need it.

I use Firewall IP - which shows any outbound connections and the port they are on - and gives you the chance to allow or block them. This might help to see what apps are trying to access what.

yeah just to confirm, my phone was connecting to 3g and the only thing which sorted after a long look into what the issue was, was on my 2g getting sbsettings and fake apn, make sure on sbsettings the push mail is off (as Yahoo Messenger may be connecting) and so is edge, and if you can't edit your apn get the fake apn sbs cydia download

using any type of data whether on edge or 3g with out a data plan will ofcourse make your bill huge. data is data as simple as that. Who is your carrier? and yahoo is prob set up to use push which is data
