Home button problems usually are something simple, could be a bad connection, a bad cable, or if it got a little wet you could have some corrosion on the connection which in turn would be a bad connection... If you need help you can msg me.

the problem is that my gf slammed my phone on the ground (with the case on it) so the phone doesnt have any physical damage but now the gps (navigon) doesnt work. the phone is able to spot me but it loses connection when it trys to keep a constant gps connection. and also the button I have to press it down very hard in order to get it to work.so I am not sure if she messed up the hardware when she slammed it

Ok, that would most likely be a bad connection.. or cable.. easy fix but a little painful if its a bad cable, you would actually have to order a new cable and remove the touch screen to put the new cable on, but if its just a bent connector then all you have to do is re-adjust them and it should be fine.

As for the GPS you may also have some loose connections inside besides your home button. I'd ditch the gf Lol..

Yah'll need some counseling or something..lol j/k Thats just flat out phone abuse..lol
Yah just pop the screen off dont try to pry it out with anything use a suctioncup & place it by the home button & pull carefully down & out..Check cables re-seat if needed...Also there are 2 small 'golden" tabs that stick up where you home button is make sure those didnt get flattened down those are what makes the connection from the button board to the main board..
