ardon for my ignorance but I never had ATT. Anyway, one of my friends who has ATT recently got an iphone. I had been sending him some texts and later when he replied back he mentioned he doesn't have unlimited texting. I thought ATT charged an extra $30 a month for data and stuff when you got an iphone? Does that seriously not include texting?
Right, the $30/mo data plan covers only Internet data. Texting still costs extra, up to $15/mo for unlimited I think (could be wrong about the price). Personally I rarely text people, so I got the 200 texts/month plan for $5/mo, and then if I'm having a back-to-back conversation with someone, I'll use AIM's SMS feature. It's a text message on their end and an instant message on mine, so both of us get to use our respective unlimited plans, using AIM to bridge the gap.
There are also various iPhone apps, free and paid, that let you have unlimited texting, but I'd be rather wary of those.
