Contacts problem

Hi i was wondering if anyone could help me.
My iphone had a problem so the only thing that would fix it was a restore, so i backed up my iphone on itunes and restored it, but the same problem was there, i couldnt go on the phone or sms app because it kept retarting to springboard, so this time i SSH'ed into my iphone and backed up my contacts from there by copying the Addressbook.db and restored my iphone as a new phone then i SSH again and copied addressbook.db back into the iphone so all was fine my contacts were all back and phone wasnt crashing but now for some reason I cant add any new contacts to the list, I add a number then put the name and everything but it just wont save, is there any way to fix this? I am using an iphone 3gs 16gb jailbroken and unlocked on firmware 3.1.2.

if your syncing with Outlook/Whatever, can you add the contact there and they try syncing again??

when you restore set it up as a new phone, and after that re-sync your stuff. ssh can be a little dangerous, your phone prob dosent have the privlages to write to that copied contact file
