HELP PLZ!!!! Oops...3.1.3 Dagg!! What vers at Apple Store???

I'm one of the Oops crowds and I'm pissed off!!!! I LOVED my jailbroken 3.1.2; I had folders, multitasking, customized backgrounds, desktops, and a BUNCH OF USEFUL Apps that Apple refuses to let go through the app store. I'm almost to the point of going NEXUS but T-Mobile 3G, come on, really!!! Apple 3G is bad enough!!!

What I'm wondering is, if I go back to the Apple store, phone is still well under warranty, and complain about one of the well documented issues with 3.1.3, should I be able to get a 3.1.2 version with an earlier MODEM software so that I can re-JAILBREAK?? Is the Apple store delivering 3.1.3 or still 3.1.2 and requiring upgrade to activate????

ANY color on this this would absolutely GREAT!!!

If you go to the apple store make sure you watch the "genius" bring out a unopened box & ask to look @ the serial # 1st cause you've "heard" that some phones made @ a certain year/week are buggy...lol heck get him to look thru the entire inventory to find the one you want hehehe

Your reply is MUCH appreciated. Can you help me out with what series of serials I need to look for or where I can find. I'm guessing that it would be any serial prior to a particular date of manufacture. Your post is the first that I've seen to say to check for this but of course, we know that at some point Apple will have switched all new iPhone's being sold/distributed would have at least 3.1.3? Do we know if this is the case or if there are some 3.1.2 devices still being sold new?

One other question, will I be able to activate, via the Apple store or iTunes without being forced to 3.1.3 from 3.1.2???

Again, any color is much appreciated. Totally new to Jailbreaking but what little little experience I have has sold me on the iPhone but ONLY as a Jailbroken device.

When is Steve/Apple going to learn that they have a great, fairly powerful and capable device that could and would be appreciated and lauded by so many more people (even on the piss poor AT&T network) if they would only allow jailbreaking and simply not support these devices. I'd be willing to take the risk of not having to call Apple, AT&T or speak to another Genius. Oh yeah, what was I thinking, this is Apple, this will never happen or at least not until that Liver gives out. Ewww, that was mean but come on Steve, it is afterall Steve, not your Holiness!!!

Please try to keep it civil. I understand how some may get mad at the comment as words don't hold tones of an actual voice. Sometimes people get upset at the same sort of questions.

On topic I would say that if you take it in they will more than likely give you a refurb phone. You may get extremely lucky and get a 3.1.2 device but more than likely it will be tethered too. Chances for 3.1.2 devices are becoming slim but the chances of getting a tethered jailbreak is almost 100%.

Downgrade Iphone 3gs Baseband 05.12.01 from 3.1.3 to 3.1.2 and jailbreak without SHSH

Apple/Steve, please come to your senses!! This could be such a GREAT device out of the box. If I don't find a fix soon, I'll be canceling my AT&T service and going to an unlocked NEXUS.

Just so you don't get your hopes up, that thread is a dead end. Though, if I were stuck at 3.1.3 I'd probably try it anyway as well.
