I am no longer among the lucky
The refurb 3GS with the old bootrom was experiencing service issues, and after trouble shooting them for several days (including upgrading to 3.1.3 and losing the jailbreak), it was reccomended I replace the phone (still under 30 days old).
The store had no other refurbs, so I had to exchange it for a new 3GS and pay the difference.
So ... now I have a new 3GS, back to 3.1.2 and JB with Blackrain, but this one has the new iboot and is teathered.
The kicker in ALL of this was that it turned out not to be the phone anyway, but rather a setting @ AT&T! So I lost my old iboot protection for nothing!
