    Default Fakecarrier or MIM?

I fancy changing the carrier name on my 3.1.2 3G, which do you recommend FakeCarrier or MIM?

who cares. does the same thing. You can do it manually if you want too by editing /var/mobile/Library/Preferences/com.apple.springboard.plist and adding a key called SBFakeCarrier and the value as whatever you want it to show up as. thats what both of them do.

Always up for a bit of manual tweaking, what prog do I open the .plist file in Windows? I tried the usual notepad, wordpad etc but just a load of characters.

    EDIT

should have searched this forum first haha, found a post with a link to a tiny editor
