IPHONE Trouble Help

hi

new to this so bear with me...

I bought an IPHONE in the USA when they first came about 3-4 years i guess.
I've never used it as a phone and just used it as an ipod...

Anyways i had an issue with my pc...it crashed and i lost all my iphone data...nightmare.
i had the pc fixed and then went to re-register the phone with the pc.

When i did this it downloaded new s/w.
When i went to to register the phone with the pc it is asking me register the phone with my AT&T sim info, wHich i don't have and don't want...i'm now back in the UK.

Went to the Apple shop and they told me there was nothing they could do.

Question: how do i get the iphone to work and allow me to download songs, video's etc...

just jailbreak youre phone, and unlock it to any network using blacksn0w, no need for the at&t details then!!

use blackra1n to jailbreak, and blacksn0w to unlock to any network, youll also be able to customise youre iphone alot better after jailbreaking!!

BlackSn0w does not unlock the 2G you need BootNeuter to do that.
It is far easier to use RedSn0w which includes BootNeuter.

i stand corrected. apologies as it does not state what handset he was using, but if id have used my head where he said he purchased it 3-4 years ago i would have known :-)
