Default iphone 3GS keeps crashing randomly.. Non-Jailbroken

ok so 2 weeks ago i got my brand new 3GS, new bootrom. i set it all up and JB it with blackra1n, it was all fine until i decided to install that cydia package that removes pointless daemons to free up RAM. well it crashed my iphone and got stuck on recovery mode so i eventually restored it after lots of attempts to fix it. after restoring it i tried to JB it again with blackra1n, same problem. so then i restored and JB to redsn0w, worked good until i realised it crashes my iphone randomly. a few days ago i restored to 3.1.3 and decided not to JB again until 4.0 comes out or an untethered JB comes out.. but its still crashing.. i really dont want to send it off for 2weeks to get fixed because itll most likely come back with the same problem and ill have to send it off AGAIN because they'll only replace it if they can see that it crashes or has a problem. since its a software problem their not going to realise that..

any help is greatly appreciated. sorry for the long post

yeah mines is pretty bad. cant even use my iphone in peace. =/ yeah you can drain the battery flat. And then try cold booting it after recharge. yours is minor. Mines, I tried everything. Even restoring it with custom firmware didnt work. Still in search of sunrise!

I am not sure what makes you think it takes 2 weeks to replace it? Apple always uses overnight shipping both ways. You can also pay $29 and do an advanced replacement and then mail your phone back to Apple when you receive the replacement.

Call them up. I know here in the US it is 1-800-My-iPhone. Not sure the number in AU. You can fill out a service request on the support page an opt for them to call you or to call in yourself. They are always more than helpful when calling. Make sure to let them know you have tried restoring several times and even in DFU/Recovery mode and you still have the issue. It saves them and you time trying to troubleshoot. Do not mention anything about JB/Unlocking.

it happened again.. but this time i saw it happen
it was weird, i opened up appstore and was trying to view an app and it just randomly crashes.. but it happened like this

    1) browsing appstore
    2) it came up with the black screen with the swirling ring like you see when you respring
    3) went to the springboard for half a second and repeated 2)
    4) then came up with black screen with white swirling ring and then turned off
