    Default iPhone 3G: "database malformed"

I have a JB iPhone 3G running on firmware 3.1.2 (7D11). So i have been using it for a few months, with no issues at all. I use sharepod for my music and such. So last night i used handbrake to make my first movie for the iPhone, used sharepod to transfer it, and it worked great.

So i made a second, not noticing that it was a .mp4 and not a .mpv like the first one. This may not even matter, i dont know. So i unhook the phone and hit my ipod icon....and the app crashes. Reboot the phone, it comes back to the sad face, so i restart spring board....still crashes.

So today when i finally get out of bed i fire up sharepod and delete the second movie, which is what started the problems i imagine, and then i get an sqlite error "database malformed". I'm a techie so i am familiar with some sql and stuff, but i have no clue how to fix this....

    any ideas?

try ssh-ing to your phone, and find the directory where those videos are stored and delete it again. Worst case restore and hope you made a backup. im no pro but i have been f-in with an iphone since.. ill just say awhile.... iv had problems with my ipod classic thanks to sharepod, not to knock it or anything it is sweet. But it can happen when you have 3rd party software messing with the databases that arnt theres. good luck

I already tried removing the files, which is what envoked the database error. They no longer show as being on the device in sharepod.

A little tidbit that magically came back to me is i tried loading the second movie, and reacting to a txt message i accidentally canceled the sync. So i deleted the file, and resynced it with no inturruption.

    Maybe that did it?

heres the full error right from sharepod

System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

    SharePod 3.9.4 Preview 10, iPod Type IPhone_ITouch3
    FIXED.

I was preparing to wipe the thing and start new and in the process i decided to let itunes backup the phone, something i had not done in forever since i hate itunes and it often just screws me up. In the midst of everything i allowed it to sync music, and then unchecked it to erase all the songs.

    Doing so solved the problem.
