    Default 3.1.3 & The 3GS

    Hi All,

I'm new to registering here, however I have lurked for a good while and learnt a few things in my lurkingism.

My question that I pose to you is, is 3.1.3 worth it for the battery improvement?

I would find out for myself however I made the mistake of upgrading to 3.1 when it first arrived, and I'm not going to do it again unless it is worth it. Which 3.1 at first was definitely not. Live and learn I guess.

At the moment, my battery life is atrocious. I will use 50% in a day doing nothing with the phone, and it is driving me insane. This is with two restores so far this year incase I have installed something stupid, which it appears I have not.

So, worth it, or not? If it will increase the usability of my phone I am happy to sacrifice JB for the time being until something else shows up.

Or, is this an upgrade/fix to the BB which will fix the battery issues? If so, I don't care about unlocking, so I will downgrade back to 3.1.2 after upgrading to 3.1.3, all of my ECID's are on Cydia.

    What do you think guys?

    Cheers

I have seen issues with some applications, even after removing them, having processes that run in the background and kill your battery. I had this happen to 2 different phones. The only solution I found was to restore the phone and re-jailbreak. IT worked like a charm for both phones.

So get the 3.1.2 ipsw file and <shift> restore to 3.1.2
I wouldn't upgrade, well not yet anyways.

As I understand it, there's actually no fix to improve battery life in 3.1.3

What there is, is an improvement on the battery life indicator meaning you won't see the jumps of 5%, 10% or higher that some users are experiencing. So as I said, no actual improvement on battery life itself.

So no, there's no real reason to go to 3.1.3
