iphone fkn slow
hello,
i dont know if itīs due to jībreaking so i post here.
i have a iphone 3g on ipfw 3.0.1 (7a400) and baseband 04.26.08. i j-broke it with blackra1n (if i remember right) and everything seemed to be alright. i installed backgrounder, sb-settings, categories, categories-sb, lock-calender, cycorder, volume boost 3.0, apt-backup, safari-dlīer, attachment-saver, boss-prefs, cyntact, ifile, some gameboy-emus, some wb-themes and some other stuff. and i unlocked it with ultrasn0w...
i dont now if i just didnīt realize it in the beginning or if it really got worth. but now when i start apps they seem to take ages to load up (eg about 12 secs for the texting-app or 15 secs for the camera). sometimes even unlocking the phone takes several seconds... and sometimes even the apple-apps crash.
so is the 3g just to slow for ipsw3.0? or is it the jb-ing in general that slows my iphone so much or can it be specific apps.
can updating to a new fw help me (iīm a little bit scared to do that [will i have to reinstall all my stuff after updating?])?
thx vm!

You most likely are backgrounding too many apps at once causing a memory drain. Restore to 3.1.2 is recommended, but not necessary. You can also use the Free Memory option in SBSettings periodically to free up some processes.

i dont use backgrounder that often. only sometimes for skype or shoutcast app. and then i always make sure to shut them down (sb-settings > processes) when i dont need them any more...
i got my free memory displayed in the top bar: average between 10 and 20mb free. if i "free up memory" via sb-settings it gives me a bit more mbīs but doesnīt speed up the phone at all...
will i have to reinstall all cydia-apps when i want to upgrade to 3.1.2jb ?
thx

yes, You can use PkgBackup in Cydia to backup and then restore all of your cydia apps.
