Ringer and keypad Volume on 3gs to low??

Hello guys i have a brand new iphone 3gs and i noticed that the ringer volume and the keypad tone volume is way to low. for the keypad tones i have to hold my phone very close to hear anything at all by full volume adjustment on the side of the phone. my friend has a first generation iphone and even his is louder than mine. any ideas what i can do? is there an extra setting somewhere? help is appreciated.. thanks for listening

I forgot to mention that the ringer is not that bad... its more the keypad sounds that i just not hear at all except as mentioned above if i hold the phone really close. please help

Is it jailbroken? If you have Cydia installed go there and search for "Volume Boost X3"
I use it on my 3G and it definateley increases the volume all around. Ringer, keypad, music etc...

yes it is jailbroken and all... i tried the volume boost x3 before but i didnt notice anything i run firmware 3.1.2 maybe its only till 3.0 i dont know... wierd. thanks for ur reply anyway u are the only one
