How do I "format" my iPhone 3GS?
I have an unlocked and jailbroken iPhone 3GS (with the new BootROM). It's running on the 05.11.07 baseband and jailbroken/unlocked with Blackra1n.
Now, lets cut to the chase.
I want to know how I can format my iPhone and jailbreak/unlock it again from scratch. (If you're curious, my friend did the work for me).
After doing a little bit of research on ModMyI and some other forums, here's what I have come up with:
1. I connect my phone to iTunes and restore it to the original 3.1.2 firmware.
2. After it installs the clean firmware, I plug it in and run Blackra1n.
3. Once it's jailbroken and unlocked, I have fun.
So, anything wrong with those steps? If so, please correct me and try to explain a little so I can understand.
Thanks.

You have it right. But remember to run blacksnow for the unlock. And don't forget to sync first too. When you're done jailbreaking/unlocking set it up as a new phone and resync.

OK, thanks for the advice.
By the way, will re-JBing my phone change the SSH user/pass back to default (root:alpine)?
