    Default Need advice ASAP

I believe i have broken my 3gs speaker where the volume is much lower. Im still under warranty so i can take it back. I had three questions i need to get answered before hand if possible from non apple affiliated people.

    1) If i get it replaced am i going to get a 3gs that is non jailbreakable (i dont want a tethered break)

    2) If im given the chance to get mine replaced is there a quick instore way i can tell if its an old one or a new one.

    3) do i have the option to just have mine fixed instead of being replaced.

By the way if anyone reads funkyspacemonkey.com and saw the DIY hack of putting the iphone in a glass to make music sound better, BEWARE dont let the bottom touch the bottom of the glass. Nothing good comes from that.

There is a good chance you will get a phone with a newer bootrom. They will not try to fix it, they will want to replace. The problem is you will not have a chance to dig thru their stock looking for correct serial numbers

A little off topic but what exactly is the trick with the glass and what happened to your phone?

    Default update on what happened

ok well i took it in and they couldn't find anything wrong with it, and wouldn't you know it it sounded fine when at store, but they did offer to replace it because i did have a minor issue with the volume buttons. I declined to have it replace (with a weird look from the store associate) with hopes that the speaker remains working.

I mistakenly typed the wrong site instead of FSM.com it was the iphone spot, but the trick is to place the phone in a drinking glass when you are playing music or on a conference call. It makes the volume louder and i think better.

If you try it out let me know what you guys think, i thought it was a pretty neat trick.

So you put it in and forgot to make sure there wasn't any water in the bottom of the glass?
