before i jailbroke my phone, everytime i plugged my phone in, a pop up window used to open on my pc. it was to copy my pictures on the iphone to my pc. but ever since i jailbroke my phone, it no longer pops up on my pc. anybody knows how to enable it again?

Do you have pictures in your camera roll? That pop up shows only when you have pictures in there. At least that's how it works for me.

I had this same exact thing happen to me. I was reading and people said to delete pics and what not but I didn't wanna loose my pics. So I played around and figured out how to fix. Do you have ifile installed? Or ssh?

Ssh into or use ifile to go to. / var/mobile/media/dcim/.misc
then back up info.plist or just rename to info.bak. Then restart phone open camera app then close and try to reconnect to computer. If that doesn't work then uninstall your drivers and then reconnect phone to reinstall drivers. Let me know if that helps!

Plug your phone into your computer. Go to 'My Computer.' Find your phone in the list of drives. Right click on it. Choose 'Properties.' Got the 'Events' tab. Check 'Prompt for which program to run.'

If it connects then soulthought's answer is the way to go (depending on the version of windows) but as you haven't answered my questions you can do it the difficult way if you like.

My computer wouldn't Evan show it as a drive. And when I would uninstall drivers and try to reconnect phone and it wouldn't install drivers for camera. But I don't know if that was his case. But yea that would have been easier. In my case that didn't work

I had to do it the way i told him to try.

My post certainly wasn't meant to suggest you did anything wrong and thank you for sharing your solution, just with more information we probably could have helped the OP troubleshoot to see if that was the only option.

only my phone it doesnt show up as a driver or has a pop up window. the other day i plugged my friends phone to jailbreak it and it showed up right away. i did the ssh thing and it worked. but i plugged it in again today and it doesnt work. question: after doing changes in ssh, how do i save the changes or do i jus click disconnect? the reason i ask is just now i ssh my phone and in the folder var/mobile/media/dcim/misc, theres the info.bak(changed it from .plist lastnight) and there is also info.plist.

The reason you have the .bak and a new .plist. Is the phone recreates and new info.plist and the .bak is just a back up of the old one to make sure if you had any problems you could just rename it back to .plist if need be. So you could take the .bak and delete it now.

When you take those steps I gave you before. After you get it working, transfer all the pics out of dcim onto your computer. Then sync them back using iTunes. The reason is a picture you saved or whatever is causing a conflict atleast from what I've read. Atleast this was my problem.
I've also heard that USB cables them selves could be the problem too.

i think it ended up to be not the cable but the connection on the phone where the cable hooks up. i kept unpluggin and plugging then it worked. like i said, my friends iphone is newer than mine and as soon as i plug his phone in it works right away. but thanks for all of your help guys. aloha.
