Question Are the newer released iPhone 3GS different hardware then 3GS original released day?

I am curious if the newer iPhones 3GS released models have different hardware specs or changes compared to when the first batches of iPhone 3GS models where made?
I do know about the Boot Rom have changes since week 40/41+ but is there anything else that has changed? I heard different LCD screens...?
I had a week 22 iPhone 3GS which has died and Apple replaced it with a week 51 iPhone 3GS.

Okay, first 2 digits are 5K. What that mean? The week is 51.

Ya I guess it was just rumours going around. It was a few months back and I think rumours were they went to cheaper LCD or something...

Well so far from a week 22 3GS to my newly replaced week 51 3GS, I dont notice anything different. Its just unfortunately I have the boot rom which requires blackra1n every time u reboot/restart.
I do notice the battery life is better (Old one didnt hold a good charge) and that I dont have a screwed up screen anymore lol

    Thanks guys for info.

5K means it's a refurbished phone so you can't tell when it was originally manufactured. It might even have the old iBoot!

Thats interesting to know... O well, any new iPhone 3GS is better then my older 3GS due to it crapping out! And it has the newer iBoot Still works amazing though and can do everything that my old 3GS could do, I just dont restart or turn off unless I have iTunes and Blackr1n around lol
Im glad it does NOT lose your modifications once u have to restart and JB again. If it did erase everything, i'd really be pissed then! haha
Give it time and im sure will see a non-tethered JB or something in months or maybe longer...

    Thanks!
