ok i have an iPhone 2G on 3.0.1 and i want to update to 3.1.2

blackra1n is for 3.1.2 and iPhone 3G & 3GS

people say that blackra1n isnt compatible with 2G's so is there any way i can update (instead of custom FW because i dont trust them)? im running Vista btw
