Jailbreaking to 3.1.2 FROM JB 3.1

Hey guys,

I'm having some problems with my iphone, so I want to restore, and jailbreak again. I was wondering if I can go from jailbroken 3.1 to 3.1.2 using pwnage tool.

Cydia says that "it is not possible to jailbreak an iPhone running 3.1 already"

Has anyone done this successfully?

I dont know how I did it but I did it. I did my touch and put on 3.1.1 but I wanted to go further. So I downloaded the .2 firmware and tried to JB w/ pwnage 3.1.4. It didnt work. Couldnt find the software. So I proceded to upgrade to a factory iPod at 3.1.2 successfully. Then I realized that your supposed to change the .zip ext to .ipsw. It still didnt work. So I tried Blackra1n and that went well. But didnt realize that its a tethered only. So back to stock 3.1.2. What I didnt realize was when you use pwnage you have to be jailbroken already, so back to blackra1n, then used pwnage with the 3.1.2 firmware and it worked so now its on the latest jailbreak/firmware.

BTW, you have to use a MAC when you use pwnage 3.1.4. I dont know what youre using, you didnt mention it.

I'm using a mac, sorry for not mentioning that

So, basically, I can restore to 3.1.2, NOT jailbroken. Then use pwnagetool to jailbreak the 3.1.2 firmware?


Or, should I just use pwnagetool now, (since you said that you had to be jb'd to use it), and upgrade directly to JB 3.1.2?
