Iphone not recognized (Help!)

Ok so I have done a good amount of research and nothing has helped so far. I bought a 8gb 2g Iphone off ebay, Unlocked and jailbroken on 3.1.2.

When I plug it into my computer ( and two others ) it shows up "USB device not recognized" I have tried putting the Iphone into recovery and DFU mode with the same reults. I tried different USB Iphone cords too.

I tried updating the drivers manually. Also the phone does not show it is charging, through the computer or wall charger. Not sure what I should try next. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Problems:

- Iphone not recognized by computer or Itunes (Tried windows xp, and windows Vista 32.

-Tried DFU mode and recovery mode

- Using Itunes 9, which popped up when I went into DFU mode but still did not recognize the Iphone.

BTW- I am trying to figure out if this is a hardware issue, because if it is im going to ask for a refund. thanks again.

Try another USB port or another conputer

Hate to say it but it may have a broken connection. Did the ebay listing mention anything about it being broken in anyway? If it is not even recognizing the charger unit then that is all I can think about being wrong with it.

No it didnt say anything was wrong with the connection in the listing. I wanted to be sure it wasnt a software issue though before I try to get a refund.

Ok update. Last night I left the phone plugged into the computer, and I got half of a charge, although it did not show that it was charging. Any ideas what this could mean ?

U say this phone u bought was jailbrokeb rite. K on the home screen see if there's an app called USB drive

Do you have a wall charger? The USB port on pc may not have enough power.

Nope no USB drive app. Yes wall charger gives me the same results as far as charging goes. I think I have a hardware issue, so until I get it sorted out I can atleast use the phone to play SNES games lol (SSH is awesome)
