Default Newbi question about iPhone Explorer...please help

I have a blackrain jailbroken 3GS 3.1.2 and am able to access my directory thru
    the explorer program.....
    My question is this....
Can I change my root password thru th iPhone Explorer application?
Can I also expand my virtual memory?
Basically, can I do everything thru this app that I would be able to do if I were to SSH into my phone?

    In short, NO.
I use iPhonebrowser when i want an explorer type view, mod/replace/add files, or manually backup my standard personal info like phone numbers.
Most SSH clients can do all this, and more.
Since you have a 3GS, personally, i don't think you need to increase your ram with virtual memory, though iPhone Explorer will not do the trick.
To change your root password, use Mobile Terminal in Cydia, there are instructions to do so on Cydia's front page titled "OpenSSH Access How-To".
