Winterboard crashes on 3.1
Hey
I have a 3GS firmware 3.1. It's jailbroken. I'm having problems installing winterboard. Whenever I install it, my phone crashes, and goes into safe mode until I uninstall winterboard. Could anyone possibly help me out? I looked in the search, but I wasn't able to find an answer that helped...
ThanksLast edited by billybobr_06; 12-09-2009 at 12:14 AM. Reason: Fixed

Someone must be able to help me... I mean, even if it can't be fixed, maybe I can jailbreak again. I just need help on what my options are.
Thanks again

If you can't get it working then, yes, you can restore and re-jailbreak if deemed necessary.

What are my options? I'm pretty sure I jailbroke to 3.1 before pwngetool released their newest update. Is it possible to restore and jailbreak to 3.1.2 using the newest pwngetool? Or am I stuck on 3.1? If so, how do I restore and re-jailbreak to 3.1?
ThanksLast edited by billybobr_06; 12-12-2009 at 05:40 PM.

here the solution ...
Hi,
After having upgraded my iPhone 3g from 3.0 to 3.1.2 I had also the winterboard crashing ....
here what i did to resolve it . IT WORKS 100%
well, it's works now ...
here what i did
Go to this, and download this file ...
I did this because my mobile substrate was version : 0.9.2977-1 and no other choise to upgrade it to the last version
http://apt.saurik.com/debs/mobilesub...honeos-arm.deb after having downloaded it :
SSH in your iphone
Upload the .deb file to /var/root/Media/Cydia/AutoInstall
reboot your iphone, ( hard reboot ) and it's done.
you can now check if you have the right version in Cydia.
it might be u have an old version of Telesphoreo source.
There is a quick fix for that.
Just go to Cydia, tap the Sources, Edit and add: apt.saurik.com/cydia-3.7
done, and WinterBoard works again without crashing .. YEAHHHH

Crash into safe mode is due to conflicts with other mobile substrate apps. You can go into SB settings (assuming it's installed).. go to the More button.. click on Mobile Substrate Addons. This gives you a list of all apps using Mobile Substrate. You can see which one is on conflict by turning them off one by one and try Winterboard again.

The link you gave me gave me a "404 - Not Found" error... BUT, adding the new source fixed EVERYTHING.
Thanks so so much.
One question though, why was I having this problem (does no one else have this problem), and 2, why isnt the fix more widely available?
Thanks againLast edited by billybobr_06; 12-17-2009 at 11:54 AM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost
