3GS 3.1.2 needs restore after intalling cydia apps

hi everyone, i'm new here, so hopefully i'm posting in the right spot.



my 3gs on 3.1.2 is jailbroken with blackra1n. i am having a problem where anytime i install an application with cydia. when it finishes installing an app and cydia shows the button on the bottom that says "reboot device" it will try and reboot but the phone will not boot all the way and come up with the itunes symbol and a usb cable on it. when i connect to it gets recongnized as a phone that is in "recovery mode" and itunes says the phone has to be restored. this has happened many times even after restoring and rejailbreaking the device. instead of hitting "reboot device" in cydia i have tried exiting cydia and shutting down the phone manually but the same thing happens. this is absolutely driving me nuts. does anyone have any ideas? any help is appreciated guys. thanks in advance.

Sounds like u got a tethered jailbreak on ur 3GS
and it came with the new bootrom
so everytime u turn ur iPhone off or restart it u have to run blackra1n to reboot it to normal

I agree.

When did you buy your iPhone?

If it is tethered, when it trys to boot up and you see the connect to itunes just plug in your iPhone and run blackra1n like you did the first time you jailbroke and it will boot up like normal. You will have to do this everytime you reboot until there is an untethered jailbrake for the new iboot.

so i guess it is a tethered jailbreak. i didnt realize it was. does anyone know when they are coming out with a version for 3.1.2 3gs that isnt tethered. thanks guys.
