Status bar on boot screen after update

So i took my old 2G iphone today and wanted to update it to 3.1.2 i plugged in did all the normal stuff but i left while it was installing the update.. now the phone shows the boot screen apple logo with a status bar under it... is this normal for the new update first time i have done it and was going to do it on my 3G later tonight as well... any help here or should i start over?

i know its a dumb question lol but i have never seen this before lol

ya that means its updating

yea i feel like a moron so forget this post lol i was just having a brain fart i guess it got stuck i did restore and all good now lol
