blacksn0w brick on 3gs 3.1.2?!!

hey guys, i really need some help here.

so i jailbroke my 3gs 3.1.2 a couple weeks back with blacksnow and everything was working great. but last night i was using google maps and all of a sudden my phone said i had no service. I thought it was just the area i was in at first so i waited a bit till i got to a different area, but nothing happened. So i thought I should restart the phone, and then out of no where i got the bricked screen where it my imeei and iccid are unknown and can only make emergency calls. came home and tried a restore and a dfu restore, still nothing.

so my first question is, is this a result of the jailbreak? it was working perfectly fine, just all of a sudden during regular use it turned out like this.

second, is there a way to fix this? ive looked for solutions all over and can't find anything...

finally, what are my options if i can't fix it? since i had it jailbroken i was using a theme that made my lock slider black instead of the normal grey, so i dont think taking it into apple is an option, even if it seems like my problem isn't with the jailbreak....
