    Default Cydia Will Not Open

I was downloading a new app via Cydia yesterday and during the install, my Iphone rebooted. Now I am trying to open Cydia and it will not open. It just starts to connect (Loading Data) and immediately stops and returns to my Homescreen. I did shut my Iphone off and on. That did not correct the problem.

    Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Open your iphone through ssh. Delete everything in the Directory var/lib/apt/lists BESDIDES THE PARTIAL FOLDER and you should be good to go. Lemme know if it works.

Thanks! I figured out a different way that works great. I use AptBackup and SpringBack from Cydia. What I did was used AptBackup and did a Restore. That restored all my Cydia Apps. Then after that I did a SpringBack of HomeScreen and I am back to my working state. I did successfully open Cydia and everything is working OK.

I did not try your suggestion, but thanks anyway. I greatly appreciate the quick response.

Maybe this may help others if they encounter the same problem.

In the future if cydia will not open you can always reinstall in via mobile terminal:

    su root
    Admin password: (default is alpine)
    apt-get remove cydia

(at this point it spends two paragraphs warning you that you are stupid just type whatever it tells you to for yes)

after its done type apt-get install cydia and it will reinstall.

afterwards reboot. Note: No apps or sources will be removed

If you wanna thank me hit "Thanks" in the lower right of my post. If you think that I am a useless git feel free to say so.

I am not sure of what you mean by 'Mobile Terminal?' Please help me here. Thanks!

Mobile terminal is a free comand based appliacation available on cydia. It is absolutly assential to all jailbroken users. It's based off the actual terminal built into OSX.
