ATT penetration in buildings and in large cities is horrendous. I was in Chicago yesterday - in the metro area. Although I was on 3g with four to five bars - speedtest showed very slow speed. And I could hardly surf the web at all. I was getting zero edge signal btw.

yeah att is faster in 2 or 3 cities, but since their area of 3G service is so small compared to verizon, verizon is better for almost everyone.

This isn't exactly scientific. I can get you a report that says Verizon is faster but I certainly wouldn't make a thread about it saying "AT&T pwned!!!!!!"

this is rather silly, actually when it comes down to it, att and verizon have pretty much the same coverage. some areas ATT is dominate, and others is verizon. Ive had att for 6 years, and honestly, really never had a problem and have been all over the US and out of country. However sometimes, very rarely though, my att doesnt work, but someones verizon phone will have better coverage, and then vice versa. just as in, some places, there is no coverage except for tmobile (this isnt many areas, but there are some) so its pretty even, and then the price plans and such for both cost the same anyways, what it comes down to is which phone do you want.

as for 4g, yeah its meaningless. in order for everything to convert to 4g there needs to be phones that would work on it, and right now in the us, theres like 3 cities that 4g even works on. for 4g to actually take over 3g and be the new cellular network, its gonna be at least 2 years. most likely longer.

Wiltok AT&T is slow in Chicago, because they are getting ready to turn 7.2 on in the next week or 2. And Verizon doesnt have anything on AT&Ts speed Girl I dont care what report you get. They sure as hell dont have 2900 download. When you have an outside firm do actual testing on both networks its as "scientific" as its going to get.

Ninja Edit: Keep in mind I had to go outside to even get 3G signal. Brrrr.... It's 28 degrees outside today too!

I use a Sprint PCI card all day in my laptop. It runs 500 down and up.

That is a whole lot better then any phone. Also my signal is very stable, I work in the middle of no where and it hardly ever drops out.
