Springboard Icons Get Rearranged After Restart

Sometimes, when I turn my phone off then on again, I get an error message saying that I have to restart my iphone. After that, the icons on springboard get rearranged. I want to fix this problem. What do I do?

Btw, I'm running 3.1.2 on an iphone 2G. Thanks.

This will happen when the springboard crashes into safe mode....which is why its telling you to restart.

No way to fix unless you figure out why your phone is crashing.

This won't correct your Crash problem. However, get SpringBack and it will Backup and Restore your Home screen Icons.
