Default Sliding will not unlock? - instantly relocks

The title says it all. I was messing around with my iPhone and hit the "autolock" button and now whenever I slide it won't unlock my phone. It seems to just lock right back up before I get a chance to do anything else. Any suggestions?...

I had this happen too. Was nearly done with jailbreak and cydia app reload on new 3GS. Hit SBSettings Autolock and immediately went to lockscreen. Sliding to unlock would click and return to lockscreen.

I searched the forum for anyone else with this prob, but found nothing. In the end I had to restore. But beware, before restoring, iTunes gave me the option to backup and I did. Then after firmware restore and re-jailbreak, I chose to restore from my last backup. Problem came back with restore. Re-did everything again, but this time as new phone setup.

    I have everything installed again...including SBSettings Autolock...but I'm wary.

    Huh, thanks for the response!

Yeah it's definitely a weird problem. I just restored and reJB'd to fix it. I always restore from new because I've heard so many rumors that "restoring from backup can cause depleted battery life." Maybe just rumors but I'd rather put in an extra 20 minutes to set everything back up than have bad battery life. ;-)

I haven't reinstalled Autolock for SBSettings. Rather not risk it. I really only leave Autolock off when I'm SSH-ing into my phone- which I can just switch off manually.

Was there anything you can remember doing? I was switching around some themes, noticed the Autolock was never turned back on, clicked it and *click* permanently locked. I feel like it's some horrible Greek fable where I'm doomed to eternally "slide to unlock" but my phone never unlocked!

My approach to restore from backup was to keep doing it until I saw a problem...hah.

I was nearing the end of reinstalling all my Cydia apps. I only use one theme and it was already in place.

The problem seems like a permissions issue and I was thinking that I should have resprung/rebooted between some of the app installs even if not forced to by the install. During the subsequent reinstall, I rebooted between app installs. Probably overkill and definitely took longer, but I'm running clean now and I'm using autolock frequently...still holding my breath each time tho.
