    Default iPhone 3GS 3.1.2 w/ MMS Jailbreak

After having my 3GS for months Im finally going to jailbreak it.

Right now its sitting on 3.0.1 firmware. I would like to enable MMS, which I believe means upgrading to 3.1.2.

Whats my best course of action?

    Thanks

You do not need to upgrade to 3.1 to have MMS capabilities. You can update your carrier settings with an .ipcc file that you can find on the internet google = your friend

i thought forums were for discussing. why come to Apple & iPhone News | Forums | ModMyi.com when everyone should just go to Google

KhanhD, u can enable MMS on 3.0 and up. yea u need the right carrier settings though. u can also get those after u jailbreak in Cydia.

SuperVee3, I currently got 3.1.2 on my iphone 2G and I got 'Enable MMS n 2G & 3.1.2' from Cydia. But, my battery drains from this. Someone mentioned .ipcc file. Will the .ipcc file save battery life more than the 'Enable MMS n 2G & 3.1.2' from Cydia?

I'm not sure. on my iPhone 2G the battery dies a little faster but it's not too bad. i think MMS just drains the battery more.

If you have AT&T just download apple 3.1.2 firmware it should ask to update the carrier. Then just use blackra1n to jailbrake.
If you need more help just ask.

Yeah I downloaded 3.1.2, updated the carrier through iTunes and blackra1n'd it.

My original question was if that was the best course of action. As of right now, it seems likes its working out for me without bugs.

If you're on ATT that's all you need to do.
