Default iPhone stuck in recovery mode

My computer won't recognize my phone. Can anyone help? I plug it in and the phone turns on but nothing happens, it doesn't even pop up on iTunes. The phone is on recovery mode but my computer will not show any signs of it being plugged in, I've also tried using other computers.USB/wire is fine btw. my brothers iphone reads on my computer.

OSX, iTunes 9.0.2, iPhone 3G 8GB not sure what firmware its been locked for a while,

    Turn your phone off.
While plugging it into your computer hold down the Home button and keep it held down. Use a USB port on the back of your computer if you can. iTunes should recognize a phone in recovery mode and let you drop a firmware on it which you can then jailbreak.

Not working when I plug in the phone it just turns back on even after I continue to hold down the home button. I tried putting it into DFU mode but it just keeps turning on.

Ok. Maybe your processes aren't running that should be on your computer.

How long are you holding the Home button while plugging the USB into your computer?

Some people just had to reboot their computers while the phone was attached to it for it to be recognized again.

I held it for over a minute one time. The phone keeps starting up as soon as I plug it in. Let me try rebooting.

All the firmwares are unlockable now right? it shouldnt matter what firmware it puts on the phone if i do get it working?

Yes, with Blacksn0w you can unlock any firmware. You may want to un-install iTunes FULLY from your computer. Download an older version of iTunes like 8.0 and try it that route. I have done this successfully in the past and it works.

How would I go about doing this on a Mac? Just drag the application in the garbage and delete right? Still stuck

without anything plugged in and it on, do a hard reset. As soon as it resets, let go of the power button (continue holding the home button) and plug in the cable. You have to do this all in about 1 second because if you plug in the cable after it starts to restart it wont work right... You have to plug it in before it starts to boot up again (all while still holding the home button)

You should boot into recovery mode (and be discovered)

P.S, Sorry i think i read your thread wrong, if you ment you are currently in recovery mode, and it still wont recognize the phone, try getting it out of recovery with irecovery

    heres a link

The only thing I ask in return for helping, is that you click the thanks button, Thanks!
