Apple Out-of-Warranty replacement service for iPhone 3g
Recently I accidentally dropped my iphone 3g 8gb into some water and now it's broken. I'm bringing it into apple soon and heard about this Out-of-Warranty service.
For those of you know what that it is, would I still apply for this deal if appple found out that I had taken the phone apart after being water damaged?
Also, is it possible to replace my 8gb iphone with a 16gb or even 32gb using this out-of-warranty service? If so, would this cost more than the $200 fee on apple's website?Last edited by TIMBO SLICE; 11-08-2009 at 10:11 PM.

Doesnt matter what you did...as it is out of warranty service.
But they will ONLY swap for the same exact thing you have. No upgrading.

There was a time when they replaced 2G iPhones for a 3G. That was nice. They ran out of 2G parts apparently and Apple was keeping it on the DL.

Wait so I could replace my phone in there and get it swapped for a second hand one even though mine has been opened
