Hi new here Iphone for a year
Hi, I'm new here Iphone for a year Ipod for 4 years ( 3 Nanos in the family)
First off I think both the Iphone and Ipod are brilliant!
Awesome products and nothing comes close in quality and function.
But While I love the products I have issues with how Apple does business, especially with AT&T.
So when you see me on the boards know these things
I like Apple
I like Macs, Iphones, Ipods
I think Apple should keep concentrating on IPHONE and IPOD with Macs in there.
But
I hate the control Steve Jobs seems to have because:
He wants complete control over the products
He does nothing but continue a mud slinging campaign
He promotes closed OS and closed Ipod and Iphone OS's
He continues to be sneaky at times.
Yes I'm connecting with a Windows 7 Dell 1555, but that does not mean I hate Macs, they are cost prohibitive and too much for me to fool with at this time.
And I believe as a sane and balanced person I can love Apple without liking Steve or some of the stupid and almost evil things he promotes.
So understand I love the Iphone but I believe it should allow any 3rd party app I want to buy and put in it and it should not be locked to AT&T so when I travel I can use it anywhere.
I pay AT&T 200 a month for my service ( Family) I think I'm legit enough.

I agree with you but APPLE is Steve, its his drive that created the company and his legacy.
Maybe one day in the near future the company will wake up and stop some of this silliness but for now things like
"Jailbreaking" should be illegal type of thinking is there and its driven by Steve.

Rumor mill had it that when Apple was releasing the New iPhone several months ago it was going to be the all new 4G, but as we all know it turned out to be the 3Gs. Some said Apple/AT&T was not ready for the 4g network so they held back (and as we found out they were not even ready for MMS).
I am a hard core fan of the iPhone/iPod and most things Apple, but disagree with their jailbreaking stance as most are.
Welcome to the forums and enjoy.

Welcome to the forum! I have mixed feelings about Apple having tight control on their products. On one hand their products are pretty awesome...due to their quality control. On the other hand I cannot have a theme on my phone without a jailbreak because of their control. It's a love/hate relationship.
Steve doesn't have a phone! He has people that use phones for him

I agree with CaptainChaos, its a love hate relationship.
As much as I like Mac's, I can't seem to be able to use all the applications I can and on top of that, they are $$$$$$$, yet on the other hand, they are really secure.
As for the iPods, I love it, have been using it for almost 6 years till I got my iPhone, never really had any problems with any iPods I have dealt with.
As for the iPhone, I totally agree with you that it's pretty stupid that they won't allow open-source and are so "strict" on some of the apps, which makes no sense, for example GoogleVoice, I am still not sure if they have approved it or not but last time I heard, it wasn't approved.
Talking about Google, GOOGLE IS BETTER THAN APPLE!!!! GOOGLE ROCKS!!!...can't wait for their OS Chrome!
and that was my opinion

Thanks, I wrote this because I too Love/Hate Apple, so if I make a negative comment about Apple then people could read what I'm about. I'm not in any one camp per say ( Use PC and use Iphone Ipod)
I changed my first post to better reflect my feelings, I of course do not personally Hate Jobs, I hate some of his ideas about control.
If Apple would just let go a little with the control issues with the products and allow some more openness I think it would go a long way for them.
