How-to Sync iPhone Applications/Contacts/Calenders/Music with multiple computers
Hey MMi world, hopefully someone can help me.
Stats:
iPhone 3G 3.1.2 (jb/unlocked with blackra1n)
iTunes 9.0.2.25
Windows 7 OS (Also on a XP machine)
Problem:
I originally installed 2.2.1 on my computer which was running windows vista at the time. Since then, i've done 2 reformats and am currently working on Windows 7. So when i try to sync up music/apps/contacts and all, I get the iTunes is going to replace all of iPhones data with contents of this library..
attempts to fix:
read the persistant id from /var/mobile/media/itunes_control/itunes/ and got the files iTunesCDB and iTunesPrefs files, opened both of them in hex editor... saw the same sequence of code, arranged them as mentioned in a few other tutorials, matched them in iTunes Media Library.xml and iTunes library.itl. Started itunes again and still got the same error message. Specifically when im trying to sync apps.
Questions:
is there an additional step that needs to be taken since iTunes version 9.0.2?
is there a way to erase those files and pretend that its a new iphone and never been sync'd and save all the apps at the same time?
oh btw this did all come about because i would love to try the new application organizer but its greyed out i cannot click it, or arrange the icons or anything. so i thought it would make me sync them in order to use the feature.. idk? help on that also i guess
help!?? and ty in advance ;-)

I'm not quite getting the problem.
You should have all your stuff in itunes. If that's the case, then you can just sync your phone with no problems whatsoever.
If your apps are missing in itunes, then I believe you will have to re-download them in itunes (you won't get charged again for apps you already bought)

The problem is that itwill erase ALL of my data which ok i get it i can download the apps and everything all over again, but the contacts, calenders, music some of those files i no longer have. How can i trick itunes into thinking that this is the original computer that it was synced with?

I see ... well, yeah, that's a problem if you don't have a backup.
I don't know any way to trick itunes into thinking that, but maybe you could make a manual backup:
1) apps can just be downloaded from the appstore
2) music should be in your itunes. if it is, it will just be synced to your iphone after itunes erased your phone
3) contacts can be backuped manually via SSH. there are tons of tutorials how to SSH onto your iphone. contacts are stored in /private/var/mobile/Library/AdressBook/ - backup the entire folder
4) sms are stored in /private/var/mobile/Library/SMS/
5) calendar is stored in /private/var/mobile/Library/Calendar/
6) Notes are stored in /private/var/mobile/Library/Notes/
... you dan download those folders, then sync your phone, then put those things back onto the phone manually.
and btw, I THINK(!) stuff like contacts, calendar, notes, sms aren't deleted off the phone, but I'm not 100% sure.
