Need WIFI help... Extremely wierd problems please help!!!!

Hey guys... help is needed

I’ve searched google and forums for a solution and i just can’t find anything.

I have an iphone 3g 3.1.2 modem fw 05.11.07 JB. The wifi is simply messed up. I have mac addresses for wifi and bluebooth.

When i go search for wifi upstairs, most of the time it will not find anything even though my cousins iphone is right beside and finds wifi no problem. If i go closer to my router it will find wifi and connect. Once its connected, i can go back upstairs and go in the same area as before where i couldn’t connect and now i can use wifi. Also whenever i go to my home screen most of the time the wifi singal goes grey but as soon as i go to safari or cydia or app store my signal goes blue.

One more thing, i also installed a wifi scanner and it finds wifi all the time where as the apple wifi finder does not!!! I have also done this with my cousin in his house and the same crap happens so i know it’s not my router or his.

I have restored my iphone plenty of times with and without jailbreak and the same problems occur. I have resetted network settings, hard reset, shut off phone, turn it on, shut wifi off, turn airplane mode and nothing seems to work.

The only two things I can think about is: hardware issue.

Or that your case (if you have one) is causing some type of interference.

Im not sure if its a hardware issue because i installed a wifi scanner and it was able to pick networks no problems. It was even giving me strong network signals.

Also i dont have a case for this phone.
