    Default Push Notifications Probs

Me and a friend have had some problems with push notifications with our jailbroken iPhones, we both have 3GS, they are only jailbroken and not unlocked, some apps like ebay etc dont seem to send push notifications, its only done it once for me when I was watching a film on the fone, but doesnt seem to in sleep mode, also had trouble with PING! it can seem to send & receive ok, but wen I read a received msg it crashes :S Could this be due to Jailbreaking?

Both using lastest firmware & baseband

    Update:

iv been doin alot of testing with a push notification test app, it only seems to not work when the fone is locked/sleep afta 5mins or so, before that it still works, kinda like if the iphone was turning off the connection to it like it does to wifi, anyone got any ideas?

do you guys have officially activated the phone, or did you let blackra1n/pwnagetool/whatever do it? make sure you acticate it through itunes.

besides that, push should work fine, maybe a restore will help. also, of course, make sure the apps support push and that it is turned on in settings > notifications

yeh I activated it via iTunes, running a legit sim carrier, Iv tried a restore before but it is the same. In the eBay app it also says about push not working if the phone is jailbroken? it does work, just not wen the fone is locked for more than 5mins

yeah, in that case it should work. it's just that the phone turns off wifi if it goes into standby, so if you only had wifi this might have been the cause.

but in that case ... no idea really. it definetly works for me.

    Default Fixed It

I also have a jailbroken (not unlocked) iPhone in the UK on O2. I fixed the push notifications by installing sbsettings and the push toggle add on for it and I simply needed to turn the push notifcations toggle to on. I am unsure how it got turned off but I had performed a restore of my phone recently. Push apps like ebay appear to be working correctly now.

Hope this helps anyone with the same issue.

I have this issue also on my 3GS. It doesn't want to push in standby when you don't have 3G. On the old 3G iPhone it worked fine. It seems to me that Apple has changed something. Maybe there will be a fix for this? I hate that it doesn't push in standby. It used to wake the phone but never anymore.
