I had similar issues, but then i went to the site for iNES(which wasn't fully functioning) and it helped me out. iPhone Explorer made the process easy.
bslapps.com was the iNES site

Site is temporarily down, if you can not find your desired app through the ROM finder in iNES do as follows
Download iphone Explorer and follow these simple steps:
1. Download your desired ROM, be it through one of BSlapps recommended sites, or any other.
2. Open iphone Explorer
a. Click your iphone tab
b. Select the Media file
c. Select the DCIM file
d. Drag your unzipped ROM file into the NES folder
3. Now go open your iNES app and play your new game
**Remember you are only, legally, allowed to download ROMs for games you already own. BSlapps does not promote or encourage the acquiring or use of pirated files.
