Default Stuck with a Russian Steve Jobs! (3.1.2 in Recovery!)

I was driving to work this morning and my phone crashed. I looked down and found it was stuck in Recovery mode. I was running 3.1.2 PWN'd (pwnage tool)

I've spent since then trying to fix it. But I'm not having much look!

    I've tried;

    iRecovery (log below)
    iReb (windows & mac)
    Pwnage Tool
    Restoring on Windows/Mac (official & custom 3.1.2)
    independence 1.4
    Pwnage Tool 2.2.5 & FW 2.2.1

I'm getting tossed around with itunes and 16XX and 20XX errors!

    What can I do...

I get Error 1611 when trying to restore official & custom 3.1.2 on Windows Vista/Leopard (iTunes 9.0.1.8).

I get Error 20 when trying to restore 3.0 or less (I guess this is normal)

i am having the exact same issue. I was running os 3.0, read the dev teams blog etc and did my research before upgrading to 3.1.2 i upgraded and everything seemed to work fine until it froze. now im stuck with steve jobs pretty much pointing the middle finger at me lol. everytime i try to restore, it wont work. ive been through dfu mode ( get the 16xx errors), through recovery mode ( i get bitten apple and the spinning circle ) just no luck. i've been ripping my hair out all morning. can anyone help?

Not had much response in IRC, hoping someone can help?

I think iRecovery might be the way, but I dont know commands, or things to try.

Can you upload 3.1.2 boot and go in that way??

    #############################

    Not getting anywhere.

Running Itunes 8.2.1 at the minute, trying to restore to 3.0 with my Host File modified to point gs.apple.com to Sauriks "server".

My DFU screen is white. Whenever I try to restore, the pineapple pops up, I see Steve Jobs for about 2 seconds, it flicks off and then goes black.

Itunes sites at "Preparing Iphone for Restore" and eventually comes back with Error 1611.
