status icon (circle with white lines) won't go away

Hi guys the circle with the white lines in it most likely the working sign wont go away it gets stuck on the phone or mail or sometimes even app icons regardles if their is a missed call or not i've hard reset i reboot and the go away until iget a call or use an app jailbriken iphone 3g running 3.0 any help would be greatly appricated thank you

yeah i'll get a screen shot up as soon as possiable im at work and i dont think its the backrounder badge but maybe i'l have screenshot up tonight after work then maybe you guys can help better i should have thought of that before i went to work

yes, it is indeed Backgrounder app, you can disable the badge display by opening the app, go to Global and disable it there.
I would also suggest you read the change log in Cydia before updating apps so you know what to expect.
