Has Tether option, but wont connect. HELP :(

hello I have a quick question...

I have a jailbroken 3GS on 3.0.1 and I just got the benm.at tethering installed on my phone. I have the Tether option in Setting but when i turn it on and select USB mode and connect it to my laptop. it doesnt work.

Am I doing something wrong? or am I missing something?

I have a powerbook g4 with Tiger 10.4.11

Go to Network Prefs and add an Ethernet connection by pressing on the + sign. Name it iPhone and save it. After you save it open the connection up by clicking on Network Prefs, then Advance box and hit apply. Plug the iPhone in and it should give you the prompt on the Mac that new network interface detected. It should connect at this point.

i cant find the commands. i go to network preferences but cant find add ethernet and stuff..
