Phone dead

iPhone 3G 3.0 jailbroken, Windows PC. Yesterday I lost data connection. I still had AT&T logo with 3-5 bars signal strength. But I had no 3g OR e LOGO. I quickly realized that I had lost data connectivity. Could not make or receive calls. Decided I had better go to iTunes and restore. Tried that but it failed to restore to custom FW. So, now it gets stuck in restore mode. Tried again only this time I figured I would let iTunes restore and upgrade. Failed again (error code 13). Still stuck in restore mode. I'm at work now on a different computer. Installed newest iTunes. Now I cannot even get the phone to come on to the restore mode screen. ALthough when I plug it in to the computer I get a tone which makes me think the computer might be seeing something getting plugged in. HELP!!

OK. I can get the restroe mode screen now. But Windows is not seeing the device, therefore iTunes does not see it. Windows is looking for the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.exe. It is where it is supposed to be as far as I can tell(Cprogramfiles\commonfiles\apple\mobiledevicesupport \bin\applemobiledevicesupport.exe)

But apparently it is not being seen by something. I have iTunes installed in D: drive. Could this be the problem?

first try restarting your computer
then plug it in if it works great if not
try putting iphone in dfu mode
