Unlocking 3.1

I'm new to this, and here is my dilimma...I have a brand new
3GS with 3.1 firmware...My friend got it jailbroke, but can't get it unlocked...I think it has something to do with the baseband?...He said something about the way the towers talk to each other?...Like I said I'm a total novice...What is the baseband version for the 3.1...Has it been bridged yet?...Or do I have to wait for a tech to break the code?...Will it be posted here? Please advise...

OMFG... If you look little further down in the Unlock forum you will have your answer right away without posting this question for the million time!!

The new 3.1 is not unlocked yet! Baseband for 3.1 is 5.11.xx Unlock new baseband will take atleast couple months!

Thanks for the info...But whats with the OMFG?...I said I was new, and EXCUSE ME for annoying you...I'm just trying to get some answers...What a welcome for my first inquiry to this supposedly information forum...You tone sets a premise that if I'm a novice, I'm not welcome to inquire...Lighten up on us

Hey Guy,

Unfortunately the new Iphone BB (Base Band 05.11.07 etc.) for firmware 3.1 has not yet been unlocked,no one knows exactly when or if there will be an unlock for the new BB but the Dev-Team (an Iphone elite group of freedom hackers)has not posted any info on if they are working to exploit it yet. So keep faith in the Dev-Team and I am sure when they find something all of us will be the first to know.

Well everytime a post is made, it will cost the server some space! Rather than post a question and wait for someone to answer, why dont you do a simple search and u get an instant answer! For this question, if u look a bit further down there is a forum called Unlock/Activate, as soon as you click on it, you will see a bunch of threads like this with people answers on it! I was a newbie also, I never post a question without doing a complete search first, because im eager to get the answer right away, rather than post it again and wait for someone to answer!

If just a few, it wouldnt be suck! But if thousands of people do this, yes it will! We spend space on the hard drive for same old stuff over and over again!

the server doesn't store html code, it stores text

I think the server can handle it ... it's rather a question of is the users can handle it

The poor guy clearly stated that he was a noob so it could mean he hasn't used forums before, next time all you have to do is just say "dude there is another forum for this topic just go to unlocking/downgrading and you will find some other post's about this subject, chow" not some thing like OMFG this is the millionth time etc., you wouldn't like it that if you were a noob and someone came at u like that.
